• It’s never too late to apologize.
• It’s never too late to accept an apology.
• Learn to forgive. Forgiveness is comfort.
• When you think of someone, touch his or her life with a card, a smile, and in anyway you can. This includes your enemies. Blessing an enemy or someone who has wronged you can have more meaning to that person than you can imagine. And, yes, they deserve it.
• Life keeps going no matter the circumstances, so give yourself permission to live.
• Seek the funnies.
• Drama is filled with jealousy, destruction, and pain…nip it, skip it, and rip it. If you must be theatric, sing in the shower.
• Do not resist an evil person. This is probably the most important of life’s lessons for me. If one comes at you with evil, let your heart be filled with grace. A wicked strike back with the tongue or otherwise escalates the turmoil. Be the peacemaker. Express a gentle heart of love. In doing so, you diminish the power of evil and open the heart of conscience. This works great in everyday circumstances.
• Never stop learning. Ongoing learning opens doors of opportunities beyond belief.
• Brush your teeth.
• Smile with your mouth; smile with your eyes; and smile with your soul.
• Encourage others to be the best they can be.
• Enjoy the talents of others.
• Keep some of your secrets close to your heart.
• Mourn a death after a death and not before.
• Meditate
• Write your story, your dreams, your pain, your funnies, your drama, even someone else’s drama, your moments of not resisting evil…write it….
• Be positive.
• Be creative.
• Allow someone else to be first.
• Practice patience. Best place for these practice sessions is while driving. ☺
• Guide your children into adulthood. “Guide” not dictate. Let them live their dreams, make their mistakes, run a little wild, be adventurous, write on the walls, roll their eyes, throw spaghetti on the wall, bring worms in the house, get dirty, run in mud puddles, be goofy, fart and burp and laugh about it, be creative, laugh, cry, grow, wear mix matched clothes to school, let them get angry…. Remember, you don’t own them. They are their own persons; you’ve been blessed to raise them.
• Respect life.
• Dangerous like cancer to feel a sense of entitlement. Don’t go there.
• Accept being weird. • In times of danger, don’t follow the crowd.
• If you just can’t for whatever reason, “not” resist the evil: When the bullies just won’t stop tormenting you, go face-to-face with them even if you have to stand on your toes.
• You’re never as big as you think you are.
• Momma is always right.
• No one will love you like your mom or your dad.
• It’s okay to spoil your children with love. Love is the gifts from your heart.
• Image, image, image is what the world sees….not reality….
There’s more to come as my world continues to turn.
